Volume 1 No.4

Kind hearts are the gardens,
Kind words are the roots,
Kind thoughts are the flowers,
Kind deeds are the fruits,

Take care of your garden
And keep out the weeds;
Fill it with sunshine,
Kind words
and good deeds.

Birthday Celebrations Image of a birthday cake

The family celebrated Shari's birthday with cake and ice cream at the Black's house. We got to see and play with all the new animals. Mom gave her a special gift. It was a scrapbook of her childhood. Everyone had fun looking at the old pictures and sharing old stories.

Cosmo (The Gimlin Dog ) got a new kitty for his birthday. His name is Nimrod. Nimrod was a great warrior leading many attacks. The name is fitting for kitty as he is a great warrior too, attacking anything and everything.

Barb Has A New Hobby!
Several of her school friends get together on Friday nights and scrapbook from 5 til midnight. It is a lot of fun. She has been working hard on making a book for Shari. She is hooked, even watches QVC for good deals!

Spring Cleaning in the Gardens

Spring has finally started to arrive and is finding all the gardeners working hard. The Blacks are busy getting their vegetable garden ready for planting. Both Sinsley's have been cleaning up flower beds and planting vegetables. The Gimlins had some disappointing news. The Garden Tour is cancelled for this year. It's a bitter sweet feeling. It will give them more time to get projects completed and perhaps add some new out buildings to the mini farm, like an old out house and shed.

Prairie Dog 4-H Club

Our 4 - Hers have been very busy. They had a bake sale that was highly successful, making them about $107 richer.  They have added a new family, the Hansens, so the club is slowly growing.
Most have gotten their animal projects started. James got his pigs and is also helping feed the family pigs. Sara has a new baby goat which she is bottle feeding and for now lives in her room in a playpen. Her goat's name is Zeta (Mom also got one too! She said it was to keep Sara's goat company, but those who know Shari know her soft heart when it comes to baby goats.) The Gimlins have new baby rabbits.  Maddie's lamb should be ready soon.

Bible Church News

Sara's trip to Mexico was a huge success. The group helped build three houses and spread joy to the children in the orphanages. It was a very good experience for her and strengthen her faith.  She plans to go again this summer.

Jesus Loves You Dolls
A few of Ariel's dolls made it to Mexico with Sara.  30 of them will soon be going to China to an orphanage there. The little ladies at the retirement home have been busy helping to make the bodies.

Joke of the Month

Bug image

A three-year-old boy went with his dad to see a  new litter of kittens. On returning home, he breathlessly  informed his mother, "There were two boy  kittens and two girl kittens."  "How did you know that?" his mother asked. "Daddy picked them up and looked underneath," he  replied. "I think it's printed on the bottom."
