SAint Patrick's Day graphic May you have:
A world of wishes at your command
God and his angels close at hand
Friends and family their love impart,
And Irish blessings in you heart.

Saint Patrick's Day (March 17th), is an Irish holiday honoring Saint Patrick, the missionary credited with converting the Irish to Christianity (in the A.D. 400's). In America, Saint Patrick's Day is a time to wear green and party. The first American celebration of Saint Patrick's Day was in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1737.

Devon Has A New Job
Well a new chapter in Devon's life has opened up. As of February 25 he will be the new Assistant Manager of Trentwood Irrigation Dist. #3. Although he had a great job with Hayden Lake Irrigation Dist. the political unrest and the uncertainty of the Districts future lead him to start looking for a new job. He didn’t have to look far. The first job he found and applied for was the job with Trentwood. For him it means a secure future, $2.00/hr raise, and better benefits. Trentwood is just across the border in Washington so he won’t have to drive much farther than his drive to Hayden. The job requirements are about the same as what he was doing, which is one of the reasons they were excited to hire him. Devon said," The Lord works in mysterious ways. I wonder what he has in store for me next, well I guess I will have to wait and see."

ladies reading books graphic Barb Goes On a Retreat

Barb and nine of her Book Buddies spent the night at the beautiful Wolf Lodge Inn, a local Bed and Breakfast. She and some of her friends from school started a book club and their overnight was a ten year celebration. The Inn is owned by a fellow worker and is located in the woods outside of town, a beautiful and perfect setting for their get away. Games were played, old stories shared, pictures taken and of course excellent service and food served by the management. It was a very fun, relaxing time for all who attended.

family graphic Darcy Finds New Cousins!

Darcy  has been working real hard on her newest hobby, Genealogy. She has taken it upon herself to help Aunt Mackey with her work and it has been real fun and challenging so far. She ordered a film from the LDS library on George Adam Silzle. This man is Poppy's great grandpa from Germany. She had become obsessed with wanting to find out who George Adam's parents are since no one knows. So the film arrived and she went to look at it and guess what, it was all in GERMAN! That was challenging! She had to write Germany, go to the library and use their German-English dictionary to translate what she wrote. But no George Adam yet. She still has the film and 3 more towns to go through so hopefully she will find his parents soon. As for the Sinsley clan, she is almost done, just needs to fill in the blanks of the whole family and see if she is missing anyone that needs to be included. She will be requesting pictures shortly from the whole family to be put in a book she's making for everyone. She is also planning on finishing Grandpa Bert's genealogy of his family as well as Grandma Dort's. It will be interesting to discover who and where the Crums and the Dahnkes come from.
Locating relatives has been INTERESTING! She has found several cousins and there appears to be more. She is attempting to see if they are actually related. For sure we have two that she has found and they are real excited to know they have more relatives out west. Mostly they are in Ohio, the eastern side of the country and California.

Message From China
Cory will be coming home March 9th!     Answered Prayers!
Micah is so excited about Cory coming home. When Cory called to say he would be ready to come on March 19th, Micah became upset. He called Ariel aside and told her that he had prayed to God that Cory would be home for his birthday. She was a little surprised at how emotional he was and then she remembered that he was upset when he realized that his brothers would not be home for Christmas. He is so much like Ariel in that he really wants family and lots of it around during special days! Ariel told Curtiss to tell Cory how Micah felt. They talked it over and decided that it was possible for him to come home on the 9th. They told Micah and he just smiled this big smile. The next morning as soon as he woke up, Ariel heard him say " THANK YOU, LORD!" She asked why he had said that and he said that he just remembered that God had answered his prayers! She told him that God always answers the prayers of a believer, but that sometimes the answer is no or wait.

Sara and James made a trip with Mom, Aunt Ariel and Micah to Bonner Ferry to get rabbits for their rabbit projects.  Sara's rabbit was bred and she is looking forward to having babies any day now. James plans to breed his to Aunt Ariel's buck and hopefully have babies too. The kids came over to Papa's to make nesting boxes for their cages. All the kids in the rabbit project went to a local vets to learn more about rabbits and watch the dissection of a rabbit. The boys didn't care much for watching but Aunt Ariel and Sara thought it interesting.

lady gardening graphic Gimlins On The Garden Tour

The Gimlins received a call from the Coeur d'Alene Garden Club asking if they were willing to be one of the houses on the garden tour this year. This is quite an honor as only 8 gardens are picked each year from the area and one Ariel has been waiting for since she started the Master Garden program.  They are very excited but know that they have their work cut out for them. They have a few projects that they let go of  last year thinking they were not going to be called. With Mom and Dad’s help, they can get it done though. Mom and Dad are very excited too!

As you slide down the banister of life,
May the splinters never point in the wrong direction!

Dustin Has a Mishap On His Motorcycle
Dustin had a minor mishap on his motorcycle but thank goodness was not hurt. He continues to live with his grandparents in Anza, California and is working hard as a security guard. Due to his mishap he has a long 10 mile walk to and from work. Everyone in Idaho is proud of him and his willingness to stay and work even though he misses his family. He hopes to be home in about two months because he can no longer bear the burden of being without friendship and any sort of activities to take his mind off work and the progression of life. He hopes by then to have enough money to keep him afloat for awhile until he can get employment.

Bible graphic Church News

Maddie and Sara are making plans to go to Mexico in April with their church youth group. They will be going to the Calvary Chapel in La Posada and from there will travel to small villages and colonies to spread the word of Christ to the people of Mexico. If you care to help them financially, you can send donations to either Maddie or Sara Black, 1257 White Cloud, Athol, Id. 83801.  They will go during their spring break from school. We hope they won't do the same thing their Mother did when she went during Jr. High.(smile)

Jesus Loves You Dolls
Ariel's doll making classes at the assisted living home is going well. She usually has about 6 - 7 little old ladies attend and said it is fun to go sit and talk with them. Only two of them can really sew the dolls. The others help stuff the bodies and the arms and legs while telling her how they can't do it because of their arthritis or their poor eyesight! Yet by the time they are done they have several parts lying on the table. Some come in and promptly fall asleep only to wake up 1/2 an hour later. Ariel offers to pray for their aches and pains and just loves on them. The coordinator is the one who is really into it. The first week in March she will be teaching 7th graders at Valley Christian how to make the dolls. They are going to be sending some dolls with Maddie and Sara to Mexico. Ariel hopes to have at least 30 or so to send.
